the tingle in your stomach whether you're gonna get in or not never goes away... all part of the fun
When it's Norwich Odeon on a Sunday am showing the wondering whether they're even going to let you into the cinema before 10:30am gives a tingle, lol!"Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138

No disrespect synufc, this isn't aimed at you ....
... but this has been asked hundreds if not thousands of times before and no doubt will be asked as many times again in the future ....
... what I don't understand every time is WHY ?
What is the problem with taking some ID ?
IF the ticket or T&Cs say ID may be required why wouldn't you take some ?
IF the response is to your Sky/02 query is "You don't need to - I've never been asked for any when I been" and you do likewise, BUT when you get there you are turned away because you can't produce any ID, you're not going to be a very happy chappy are you ?
I personally HAVE been asked for ID on a FEW RARE OCCASIONS - and I'm NOT JUST talking about Sky screenings or The O2 (I've never been there) but just general SFF ones .....
... AND on those occasions I've seen people TURNED AWAY that either couldn't produce ANY AT ALL
OR the ID that was produced DIDN'T MATCH THE TICKETS

It really does vary loads between cinemas and screenings!
At my local cinema (Norwich), when I showed the Virgin rep my bank card recently, she told me that I need to bring photo ID next time! (Will have to dig out my passport as my driving licence is a paper one.)0 -

That's good newsdidn't want to offend :j
Not sure you need your passport - not unless you are requested to bring PHOTO ID
As far as I've produced "ID" in the past in order to "Verify" my SFF ticket I've just shown a Credit Card that has the same name as the printout.

Nah that's fine I would of said same how hard can it be to bring ID with you!
Was thinking Credit Card or Debit Card might do (although a previous post did say a cinema did not accept it) only issue with my cards has my initails and surname, where as my ticket has my middle name and surname. Touch wood I will find passport! thanks agains for help0 -
I've never once been asked for ID, tho I know others have at diff cinemas.
We might punch horses, but we never ask for ID for papers0 -

If you do find your passport you might think to make a couple of PHOTOCOPIES of it.
That will save you having to take it with you JUST to go to the cinema, and will back up a Credit Card with matching initials etc.
I have a few copies of mine which I always take on holiday with me ("stashed" in various places) just in case my passport is lost or stolen. Would make life so much easier to get on the return flight home and back into the country etc. if it were to happen.
My partner also carries a copy of mine and I carry a copy of theirs.
Similarly at least 1 change of my clothes goes in their suitcase on the way out and I reciprocate with mine, then if 1 suitcase is delayed (or lost ) at least you are not stuck in your travel outfit until you get something sorted

Oh would they accept photocopies of passport?? If I find it I will do!! I always assumed you need to show originals! wonder if this would work when going on night out I used to have a provisinal drivers licence I could use as ID but expired lats year so now I have to carry passport if I know it's gonna be late one!
I do remeber when I went to see Guns & roses at o2 via SFF a freind didn't have ID however the staff did say if he got his wife to take a pic of passport and txt it to him they would let him in and they did!0
