Did you fully understand the twist for life of Pi? I'm not sure as i presume you mean the gate on the boat?

So now I know how it ends...

That says nothing about the end, the gate i'm referring to is at the beginning. I was careful how i worded it so i don't spoil anything for anyone else.

I hope you enjoyed Rise of the Guardians? The 3D is far better than that in Life of Pi btw

Thank you very much for the email address, they have replied saying there was an error with the tickets & it is for 4 people so guess where I'll be on Sunday lol

Just back from 'Pitch Perfect' in Salford. A previous poster had me rather worried about whether I should bother going at all.

Glad I paid no attention, the film was awesome. Entire audience was laughing continuously throughout, great music (I am off to hunt down the soundtrack) and well worth paying for if you didn't get a free ticket.

I saw Pitch Perfect this evening as well - loved it, as did my 14 year old DD.

    ......
And then... Perfect Pitch or whatever the hell it was called. Drear, brainless, hey-dudes,-difference-is-good platitudes, with projectile vomiting. A full cinema and about three people laughing, and the worst ending in cinema ever, despite all it said about film endings before then.

Went to see this tonight........ had a thoroughly enjoyable night.
Whole place was rolling with laughter and groans of horror/disgust/revulsion (you all know which bits I mean if you have seen the film)
Music was good ( the song Titanium came on the radio on the journey home !)
Screening was full and no one left early.
Everyone around me were laughing and groaning along with me - great atmosphere.
If you have a preview ticket - do go along and see what you think.
  • Well, I took daughter & friend to Pitch Perfect, which did have pretty good reviews in the US. Here's a thing; I have a clear sense of the optimal number of projectile vomiting scenes in a romantic comedy, and that number is 0. There's an issue with the plot (it runs on rails), and a very white-bread mentality to the film. The 'alternative' hip-DJ heroine is your basic sweet white middle class American girl except with a very small amount of eyeliner -- she's supposed to be from an inner city. And all the music is incredibly safe and not even a bit edgy and remember I am speaking here as a 47-year-old mum. There are six main characters in this film and they are all white and middle class; there are some token non-white minor characters. On the plus side, a lot of the individual performances are really quite good and there are some funny jokes.

The girls really enjoyed themselves, especially as, this being Westfield, they talked me into Mr Pretzels and Pinkberry, which between them cost as much as movie tickets would I think...
Make £2023 in 2023: (all decluttering), current total £2860 me, £330 for friends & family, £468 charity donations.

    Oh good, it worked.
To be on the safe side I would print off the email too.
I've had my bluff called, looks like I'll be watching Tinkerbell on Sunday too, for my sins lol
  • Sorry to pick up a day late on the question about the gate in Life of Pi, which I mentioned - I was meaning the goat gate, which gives nothing away about the ending - or the beginning, or middle.

And the more I think about Pitch Imperfect the more I hate it. Can't wait to watch Pi a second time for a cleanse...
