Saw The Sweeney tonight at Brighton and thought it was brilliant! Both hubby and me really loved it, just the right amount of action and a fair few comedic moments (well if you have a warped sense of humour like me :D)

And not a kipper tie in sight ;)

Really? First decent comments I've heard about it. Fingers crossed I like it too as I was a big fan of the series.

We're both big fans of the series too, but we went with open minds cos we'd heard it was nothing like the series, and it wasn't. So if anyone goes expecting it to be just an up to date version of the 70s classic I expect they'd be disappointed.

Lots of violence, lots of bad language - which I guess may offend some people but I love it! And Ray Winstone is superb in it IMHO

Will prob go again when it comes out properly :)

The trailer is misleading as it gives the impression it is an updated version of one of the episodes but I understand it isn't.

I'm still looking forward to it though.
  • I really enjoyed it too. Although (for the second time in as many screenings) the film started and they didn't put the right sound on so we just had music for the first 10 minutes. Infuriating as they then didn't play it from the beginning.

I've never seen the TV version, so can't compare, but it really reminded me of The Shield (US tv show). I was suprised at how many LOL moments there were too.
  • Does anyone know if there is a new password for the Metro screening of Now is Good? I have kept checking back to see if tickets became available and Now is Good is on there again. The Password was FRIENDSHIP, but now when I input that in the site keeps telling me to check the password. Cheers

its just a suggestion but try the password in lowercase as that was the password originally posted.

Yeah, tried that as well, but didn't work. Thanks though
  • We went to see Untouchable last night.

Fabulous. Fabulous. Fabulous. Fabulous. Fabulous. Fabulous. Fabulous.

Go see it if you can. Film of the year in our opinion.
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.
