  • Hubby will be back from work soon so I can make an appt at the vets (when I know when hubby has free time and can take him in as I dont drive) and we will see what they suggest.

In the meantime there have been no treats since and we will remove the weekly carrot treat until further notice we will stop our interactive play at foot level (eg no ball games or standing on squeeky or tug toys) and assess what else can change at mealtimes. Look on the websites you have all kindly suggested and hope for the best.

In fear of us sounding like the loonies our dogs are like our children (as we are not able to have them due to fertility issues and clearly cant look into adoption or fostering at present). Saying this it doesnt mean we treat them like humans and know the difference!

As I said in my OP we have strong views on euthenasia (sp?) so yes we will do all we can (or can afford) to prevent it and save a life, even if that means WE have to adapt to change the dogs.

Thanks for the suggestions so far and the kindness most have shown. Will keep you up to date fingers crossed we get things sorted soon for ours and the dogs sakes

Thank you EVERYONE SO MUCH SO FAR !!
    :)

Not mad at all and I HATE any idiot who immediately jumps on a couple who can't have kids and have pets and assumes they're drips who treat their animals as furry babies - so if anyone starts that claptrap it won't be a dog biting their feet it'll be ME!

He's not a shoe-obsessive is he? One of mine (the greyhound) loves looting shoes, and spent an hour once ever so persistently trying to tug a slipper across onto her dog-bed... looking most annoyed and baffled as to why it wasn't moving - oblivious to the fact my foot was inside it at the time (it was hilarious to watch) - she doesn't chew slippers or anything - she just simply likes collecting shoes (insert comment about typical woman in here) - to the extent hubby once went to work wearing one work shoe and one trainer as the dog had rearranged them on the shoe rack and he was too half-asleep to notice this as he got dressed that morning.
Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!

:rotfl: You had me and hubby loling at this :rotfl:

Its the Collie X Lurcher who has the issue, the Greyhound X Salukie is a dappy dog although he is also quite persistent at bin raiding!

Dont think theres any shoe obsessions, other than the fact their both male dogs.

So far weve had no repeat episodes and everythings gone back to normal for now.
We have no money in the bank account :o so have to hang on before I can call the vet and book him in for an appt as they dont allow credit :( But we will call.

Thanks also for the kind words :)

Well they are very lucky dogs! It's really clear you want to help your dog and you'll do everything you can to help. Best of luck in getting things sorted.
