Egg Card PPI from June 2004 - Aug 2008

I have PPI from my Egg Card totalling £1200 but it started more than 6 years ago in 2004.

As this was still active in August 2008 when I noticed the PPI and asked them to cancel, would I still be able to claim despite the initial PPI contract being older than 6 years?

Many thanks

Also, I have received all my paperwork from Egg but there is no PPI policy number. In fact there is no information on the PPI apart from the monthly debits from my account.

Is this policy number really required to fill out the questionnaire or will the credit card account numbers do?

    Thanks again

You can claim if you have a relevant reason for miselling of PPI.

You do need the credit card number and if you have no policy number just state no in the form.

I take it that Egg have not upheld a claim ?

All I did was write with my complaint and reference of account and they responded before 12 weeks and upheld my claim.

If it had been a negative response that is when I would have handed it to the FOS .

    Yes you can.
Look here for reasons for mis sell

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-credit-card-insurance#step2
If any/all apply to you then put a claim in.

Some only redress back 6 years,so unless you have statements showing the ppi you paid (i guess you have,as you know what the ppi was) then send copies of these with the questionnaires and they will redress these if you were mis sold.

If they go back 6 years, then you only need proof of 04 to 06,but to be on the safe side, send the copies in.
