Hi all,
Have had a Samsung LCD HD (HMDI ports) TV for 4.5 years (approx.). Until recently only a SKY HD box (via HDMI) attached.
Recent Christmas period - gifted an Xbox, Ps3, HD Freeview box and Samsung Blu-Ray (HDMI) player. Samsung contacted by email - no compatibility issues.
Problem is - when any of the devices are used for an hour, and I switch back to sky, the video outline is there - but the colour flashes in and out.
Domestic and General warranty - Please contact our engineering assessment partner Cantorsure. Called them - described problem thoroughly and fully. Technician came, saw problem - made a full report to D&G - but I can only seem to get a rough verbal version, and it does not add up.
Question: What rights do I have to get a copy of this third parties report. Do I have any legal right to receive a copy of this report - or can I find a way to obtain it? How can I get in writing, exactly what D&G are using as a shield.
Remember - I contacted Cantorsure directly on the direction of D&G to describe the problem in detail, and so have been directly involved with them from the beginning of this process.
Thanks,
Leonardo

I think part of your story is missing....
You have a TV set, since getting new kit that Samsung said was compatible you appear to be having problems.
An engineer has visited under your warranty to review the issue and the defect was visible at the time.
So what is the problem? Have they refused cover? You dont like their settlement offer? They're saying its not faulty and you must pay for the engineers visit?0 -

Did you pay for the report to be produced?
You can probably work out your rights from the above two questions.
You ask if you can find a way to obtain the report.
Have you asked for a copy of the report from D&G?
Have you asked for a copy of the report from Cantorsure?
What shield??0 -
Ok,
Clarification.
The engineers opinion is seriously under question. Before I continue talking to domestic and general who have now seemingly booked me in to speak to one of the resolutions team, I need to know in concrete what their position is.
I want to know what they think is the basis of the fault - in detail.
They are only telling me in a verbal fashion what their basis for rejecting the claim is. Yet the verbal response seems to show that the engineer decided to forget about all the other devices connected - Choose that the PS3 was the only other device I have. It is also rather vague.
The worst thing is - I have made contact with six other people who have the same TV, Same model number, Same manufacturing month - all are using the PS3 with this TV - with absolutely no problems.
What rights do i have in this situation to see in writing their position on the matter?0
