Hi
My parents lost their camera and watches at Dubai airport yesterday when they were going through the xray machines. They had a connecting flight to catch and were in a rush and just forgot to pick them up from the little container that you put stuff in. I can't believe it, my dad just bought his camera in january and was so excited about going digital! i just bought him a memory card last week for his holiday, they are gutted.
do you know where they stand with travel insurance and what do they need to do? i think they have called dubai airport and logged the query but don't they need a case number or something?
thanks

Hi
The insurance company will normally insist on a written report from the airport police or other similar official body and may refuse to pay out with no proof that itwas reported.
If the items are worth more than around £200 each they may be above the limit for travel insurance.Did your parents have any cover as part of their household contents/all risks insurance ? It's worth checking out to make sure the right nsurance company has been notified.
Best of luck0
