Paypal / NCO problems - Urgent!?

Like the previous forum on this site I have had problems with Paypal. Over a year ago I sold a laptop and got the payment and sent it off. I then got an e-mail from paypal saying that is was fraudulent payment - after contacting them they needed sometime to look into it, I heard nothing despite e-mails etc. The next that I heard was that NCO their payment collection company was after me for about £233.00 - they keep ringing and calling and I have recived a letter and 'phone call off them this week - it seems like I am getting know where and today mentally resigned to paying it off and then I read the previous message on ebay. Can anyone tell me, I sent this item off, what happens if I do not pay NCO? Will this reflect on my credite rating, if it does I will pay them - if I dont pay them, what will happen? I could do with knowing so I know whether to just pay them or not so if anyone knows what will happen I would be grateful to hear. Thanks!

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0 -

Don't know but I would tell em to take a hike....they accepted the payment on their system.....
Any mates who are lawyers....an official looking letter might help.0 -

loads of people have had similar problems like you...and it seems that the NCO arent being vigilant about collecting debts.. A friend of mine has owed paypal £93 since september, but theyve done nothing as of yet.YO!0 -
Personally, if it was me I'd tell them to go away (well not in such nice terms) as the way I see it its their problem they accepted payment from a fraudulant source it should be up to them to sort it out. I mean one would assume they'd have some sort of insurance against this.
I mean if someone bought items off of Amazon using a stole card (etc) You wouldnt expect them to try and charge other users for the ammount that had been lost.Titch

To me, that sums it all up.
It's whoever's buying it. Except in extreme cases, they're not paying. Ergo, a non bidder or at worst, a fraudulent one, is a non payer.
From a buyers' point of view it's simple.
Good luck all the same.0
