  • Im so upset although SANTANDER have to do there investigations they take the mick. The day my wages went in and my usual payment for rent and also a payment of money oowed to me. My account was block I was asked to bring an email with confirmation from each creditor to unblock my account. I was told this would be done in 48hrs this was weds 1st feb its now 6th Feb. I was allowed to take £270 out as that was my balance before the monies were put into my account. My problem is I have my ISA, DAUGHTERS SAVING ACCOUNT AND MY EVERYDAY ACCOUNT ALL LINK SO ALL BLOCKED. I have no funds all my money is in the bank.............................electric and gas is running out as I have a budget meter and I have no funds to travel to work which cost me £400 a month. I am so distressed and at the end of my teether. The staff at my branch are kind and understanding but thats not getting me anywhere. I cant even access money what I have saved for rainny situations like the above. I dont understand why they say 48hours and have the cheek to tell me 58 hourslater the 48 hours is not up yet. Now its well over 198 hours and im no further to getting MY money. ITS CRAZY................

They're trained not to give a monkey's. They have it drilled into them at boot camp that your concerns are not their concerns. Their job is to protect the bank from legal repercussions, at all costs. The senior officers of the bank are especially terrified of the possibility that they could be held personally responsible for the lapses of the bank.
"It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis
