Before I have any work done in the house, I need a new electricity box for safety reasons as mine is the old type. Can I get help to pay for this ie grant? or does anyone know how much approx it may cost to replace? Please

Nope you will be fully liable, a consumer unit should be about £600 fitted and certified
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Depends. If it is a Wylex with bare wire rewireable fuse holders, it is very cheap to upgrade to cartridge fuses or circuit breakers

There is no connection between 'old type' and 'unsafe'. Who told you this?
Obviously an old CU will not meet 17th Edn, but that does not automatically equate to 'unsafe'.
The main difference is that an old CU will lack any RCD protection, and may not even have MCB's.
