Can enyone recommend where to start? I want to buy a good quality one without too much to confuse me (just turned 60!!) :rotfl:

I recommend the SanDisk Sansa Clip +. Can be had for £35 from Amazon. Could use the leftover cash to invest in a better pair of earphones or more memory if you need it, although I imagine 8GB will probably be enough.

how about a simple one like this. uses 1 AAA battery which will last upto 8hrs, just plug into the computer and copy the mp3 files drag and drop.
the above link is the 8gb they also do a 4gb version. nothing to setup, I had the 1gb version for 2years, until i broke it.0
