Recently a couple of people have been banned from the site. To be honest I hate the thought of this having to happen. I was actually away at the time.
The abuse controllers did it. I want to note that I support them in this. There are a number of points I want to make about this
1. We have the right to ban people for any reason or none. The terms and conditions and the law means we can simply ban people for any reason we choose, there is no need to justify it. However of course i would always want it to be justified.
2. Barring the obvious 'abusive, offensive, threatening or racist' causes, there is another reason people have been banned. And it is this reason that's pertinent in the recent case. It's 'taking too much abuse controller time and resource in non-moneysaving issues'.
This site is about MoneySaving. That's the core. The two abcons are employed to keep the boards running smoothly and respond to abuse issues. The non-moneysaving boards are secondary, whilst they greatly add to the community of the site, they can't take up too much resource (which is scare due to the nature of the 'free to use, ad free' site). Therefore when people repeatedly cause complaints again and again and again, sometimes regardless of the rights and wrongs, there has to be a decision that benefits the site and MoneySaving and they're banned
Personally I hate having to do this, but it is necessary. And it is the call of the Abcons with my full backing. From memory this has only ever happened on three occassions and there are over 500,000 people using the site every month. Not a bad record. Still i wish it didn't have to happen

I'm sure we all agree with what has been done.
There is a lot of support for this site from its members. I know we all help to keep each other on the straight and narrow, I've prompted others, I know I've been prompted myself.
Keep up the good work, chaps and chapesses.0
