Birth Cerificate - Certified Translation into German any tips?

Hi all,

My partner and I need to get our birth certificates translated into German for our wedding this summer in Austria.

Has anyone got any tips about where we can get this done (the cheaper the better)! The only ones I can find online seem to be more aimed at big companies rather than individuals.

Thank you

  • Maybe the Austrian Embassy will do it - you can ask.

I had to do this not so long ago. Speak to the embassy of the country you would like the translations to be in, ie: German embassy. These will be authentic translators and the price should be fair.

My father died in France and needed his death certificate translated into English.

We used a translator and it was fine.

I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.

Also might be worth trying the national airline e.g Lufthansa , they may have someone who is prepared to do it for a small fee. Alternatively try your local college, see if the German tutor would do it ,again for a small fee.

take your birth certificate to your local Register of births, marriages and deaths they will provide, for a fee, an internationally recognised birth certificate.
