A straight forward query on PPI claim letter, most probably answered before

I have had a response from my lender RBS on a claim for PPI on a loan I held with them from 2004 to 2007. I have supplied them with an account number for a current account I still have with them to help them locate my loan details, but they are asking for more details such as loan account number, amounts, dates etc to help them process it.
My questions are:
a) Do you think this is just stallling tactics aimed to put people off?
b) Should I pay the £10 for a Subject Access Request for the information?
c) Do you think this is actually required or should I pursue them with the current account number I have already provided them?
Thank you very much for your advice.

No. It creates more work and at the moment they dont need that.b) Should I pay the £10 for a Subject Access Request for the information?
Why not give them what they want rather than pay £10 to get the same outcome?c) Do you think this is actually required or should I pursue them with the current account number I have already provided them?
If they cannot locate your loan details then anything that helps them find it has to be useful.
Try not to fight them and make it more difficult than it is.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
