Very confused??

I took out a loan with alliance and Leicester in 2007 but lost the paperwork in a house move, I'm pretty sure it had ppi with it as I seem to remember getting a message from them about it when the whole mis-selling thing blew up. However due to financial difficulties I ended up having to move all my debts to a debt management company as I couldn't afford all of the repayments (this was recommended by Alliance and Leicester themselves when I applied for another loan to consolidate my debts). Since then they have sold my debt to a collection company, so needless to say I am very confused as to whether I can make a claim and if so, how to go about it. Can someone please, please help?? Thank you x x
