the universal studios in California...
thinking of calling in there during our 1 week stay in LA, as we only have 1 week and time is limited, i was thinking of paying the $149 for the VIP day. which means you get to do everything, but in one day.. has anyone been on this? worth it? anyone been there and got another idea?
thanks

Are you taking children or is it just adults ?
If just adults I found that a day was sufficient to get around Universal Studios , They advised us to go straight for the tram ride around the studios when you first arrive , That was very goodThe trouble with work is that it interferes with living0 -
yes its just the 2 Adults...0

i did some googling for reviews and found some said it wasnt that good,
id suggest the warner bros tour, its very good and only has about 10-15 people per tour , much cheaper too.0 -
I won a holiday a few years back to Universal Studios in Florida. Part of the prize was a VIP tour. Our's was brilliant. About 10 of us on the tour and we got the works. Full background information - the guide was excellent. Walked straight onto the rides (guided in a led straigh to the front). Given the best seats on the ride to get the best effect. We had a great time - but as I say it was a few years ago (and the quality of the tour could have changed) and we didn't actually pay for it!Enjoying an MSE OS life

i didn't go on the VIP tour but if it's saving time rather then getting best seats and personalised service i'd say save your money and stick to standard admission (which is usually $10 cheaper when booked in advance)
This is assuming that you're not planning to visit the park on a saturday/sunday or public holiday which are substantially busier.
I went on a Friday in October and by getting there early had no problems fitting in all the major shows, tours and rides in a day. as mentioned do the tram tour first as later in the day the wait was about 45mins. On average we didn't wait more than 5/10 mins for the rides.
also don't get suckered into their VIP parking as the main carparks are only a 5 min walk through Universal City Walk!
Have a great time...and make sure you go on the Mummy ride!0
