ARN numbers - HSBC

Hi, firstly I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, so apologies if not.
I have a current account and debit card with HSBC, which I use to make payments and withdrawals to and from several betting websites. Recently I made a withdrawal from Paddypower, but the money has yet to reach the HSBC account.
Paddypower say that the payment has been processed correctly their side. They have given me an ARN number to give to HSBC to trace the payment. However when I phone HSBC they say they do not use ARN numbers and cannot do this.
I asked Paddypower about this and they say this is a common problem with customer service departments at banks - i.e. they are not well-informed on this issue. They suggest I talk to a specific department at the bank dealing with payments and transactions.
From my own research, I think Paddypower are right. However, try as I might I cannot get anyone at HSBC to put me through to the correct department. Does anyone know the direct number to an appropriate HSBC department who would deal with this? Or has anyone else had a similar issue, and if so how did you resolve it?
Thanks

Ask for the team that deal with the suspense account of HSBC as thats where the money would be sitting.0

im going through the exact same thing with Sky Bet and LLoyds TSB.
Neither are willing to take responsibility and im left in limbo with no cash (which i really need)
Just wondering if you came to a solution, and if so, what?
Im extremely fed up and just want the money i should have had weeks ago0 -
I take it this is a payment using your card.
Has your visa debit card been stopped recently?
If it has, then this payment will be sat in a internal account waiting to be processed to your account.
If your card has been stopped and replaced, then you are better talking ot the fraud department as they will deal with that suspense account.
ARN is a well recognised Visa reference on transactions. But may/will mean diddly squat to front line staff.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
none of my cards have been stopped. I have had many withdrawls from sky bet before, its just the last ones that have happened with this.0
