Recommended Conveyancers in North London?

Hi, I'm going to be buying a flat very soon in North London (Kentish Town kindof area) and am looking for conveyancers. It seems pretty hard to find online reviews of solicitors for some reason.

Can anyone personally recommend a conveyancer they've used in that area who was good?

PS: I'm thinking I'll probably go for a regular bricks+mortar one rather than a virtual one.

We used this company a couple of times:

    http://www.boulterandco.com/

Our perceptions may be biased by the fact that our first solicitor (when we were buying our first flat years ago) was so appallingly incompetent that the whole deal nearly collapsed, and in desperation we switched to these guys - they turned the whole thing around in record time and saved our purchase.

So we used them again when we sold the flat and bought our current place - again they did a perfectly satisfactory job. And the actual person who handled our case was really excellent at explaining everything.

On the more recent transactions, they did require occasional prodding (the odd phone call and email to chase things up), but AFAIK that's pretty normal for most solicitors ;)

They're in Crouch End, so while not that close to Kentish Town it's not far to go.
  • Thanks Shar46y, that's really helpful!
  • In some parts of the country, even in London, conveyancing work is quiet at the moment. In your position I would visit several local ones and put them through a beauty contest. See if there are any you have a good feeling about upon meeting them in person. Ask all of them to provide you with a written quote. Ensure you know whether these quotes include or exclude disbursements.
  • For the record, I talked to a few solicitors and then decided on Boulter and Co as recommended by shar46y. They were really good, and very helpful all the way through the process. Thanks internet!
