Can anyone direct me to a reliable online source for the above please? I'm looking for a clone, not a Dell original-but equally not the cheapest nastiest Chinese clones either.
Obviously loads on eBay etc, but can anyone recommend somewhere that they've used?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

  • Go to Ebay and look for powercell-uk. I've never had a problem with any of their Dell batteries, they really are based in the UK and delivery is usually next day.

@macman Did you buy from powercell-uk? What was the quality like? Is the battery still going well?

I ask this because I'm currently looking for a replacement battery and thinking of buying from them. I'm also slightly suspicious because I've seen Notmyrealname recommend powercell-uk in a few threads.

Finally, sorry to Notmyrealname, I'm just getting a second opinion because I know that unofficial laptop batteries can be dodgy.

To be fair, I have purchased a battery from them for someone else and it seemed ok.
On the other hand, I bought a battery from China for myself and am happy enough with it too. :)

The thing about some Chinese copies is that most people are happy enough with them until they explode or set the sofa on fire. It's not especially common for this to happen (and it can even happen to batteries made in the UK) but for the sake of your own safety it's always best to buy OEM genuine or EU certificated batteries/
