cheapest option for decking handrail?

I have a 4m x 4m raised decking platform that my ex built a few years ago, I need to build a set of decking steps up to it (probably about 5 steps) and a handrail up those steps and all round the decked platform. I am quite handy with a saw and hammer! and I wondered if anyone knew what was the cheapest way to add on a handrail system? and which option is best? ie. balustrades, ready made, wire, rope etc?
