facing redunancy from P/T work but also self employed

Hi All,
I have entered into our formal redundancy consultations at work... small charity with very little chance of future funding. We have been told that our scheme will close at end of March if no funding comes up before then.
I only work 12 hours a week ( I have 2 young children) and my final pay is under the tax threshold so I haven't paid tax or NI whilst employed by them for the last 4 years. I am also self employed, don't make much from it, more of a hobby for a bit of extra cash, which again keeps me under the tax threshold.
Previous to having children I lived and worked in Canada for 8 years and have only worked in the UK for probably 3 years actually paying taxes here.
I am wondering, if it comes to redundancies, if I will be able to access JSA or any form of benefits etc as I haven't been paying my 'stamp duty'? Also, will being self employed mess up any benefits, even though it's a paltry amount that I make through it? And finally, will my husband earnings affect anything, do they take household earnings into account or look at me as an individual?
Many Thanks in advance if anyone can help.
