I am new to the idea of PPI reclaiming and need a little bit of help...
I have requested a credit report and have now got this back. I have the following information on it and need to know if I am doing the right thing as I moved home last year and got rid of all my excess paperwork (seemed like a good idea at the time!).
RBS Loan - started 2004 ended 2007
Car Finance - started 2004 ended 2006
Credit card - 07/07 - 12/07
Credit Card - 04/07 - 12/07
CRedit Card - 2004 - 2007
Credit Card - 09/07 - 12/07
Car Finance - 2006 - 2010
Credit Card - 2006-2007
Credit Card - 2005-2007
I am using the template letter to request details of the accounts along with the £1 cheque specifically to get agreement numbers etc. I then have to send the Subject Access Request, along with £10 cheque, if I need more information to ensure I have had PPI. I then complete the questionnaire and send to the individual lenders claiming mis-sold PPI. If I am refused I then send the complaint to the Ombudsman.
Are there any of the above that I shouldn't waste my time in reclaiming?? Am I following the correct path??
I am pretty sure I took PPI out on all finance I had over this time but I work in a organisation that has a good sickness payment scheme (6mth full pay / 6mths half) and have adequate death in service benefits via both my union and pension scheme.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks AnnieOakley

You could ring the banks and see if they can find the accounts with the 4 digits you have on the credit file, some have been lucky with this, also, you could go into branch and ask for info.
If this does not work do a SAR,this will give you account numbers and the ppi if you had it, you only need i SAR for each bank,so if you had 3 cc with Barclays, you want all the info for all accounts you have had with them.
Look here for reasons for mis sell, have these ready if they say you have ppi, they may do the claim there and then.
