I was cold called last week by a company calling themselves Lifestyle Claims and I after listening to the caller I agreed to them acting on my behalf to reclaim overpayments on my credit card, they proceeded to take £299 from my card and told me that the paperwork would be in the post in the next couple of days. I then thought about things and wished to cancel this agreement but no paperwork has arrived. Do I have the right to cancel and get my money back as I think I have been duped. Any ideas.

Yes you have a right to cancel under distance marketing rules.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

They shouldn't have taken the payment before you had read the paperwork - MOJ rules specifically forbid it.
''You must not take a payment or fee before this pre-contract information is provided in writing and the prospective client has had reasonable time to consider the information.''
