Civilised Hen Party Help!

Hi everyone,
I have been tasked with organising my best friend's hen party for 13-15 July (Fri-Sun).
We have ruled out a weekend abroad so I am looking for cheap ideas for the UK - there will be 6 of us and we'd like somewhere that is nice and relaxing (possible somewhere we can have a spa day) and preferably near to a city so we can go out on the Saturday night.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received!
Thanks

yeah, good point...... I'm hoping that if we at least aim for civilised it won't turn into a raucous rambling mess too early on!!0

I had a civilised Hen party for my do - I had all the girls around to my house (about 12 of them) for a cocktail party and sleepover.
Everyone had a great time, got very drunk and then staggered off to bed - no need to worry about getting home!
The best thing for me was that I managed to enjoy myself without spending a fortune.Sealed Pot Challenge Member Number #19060 -
Sat 14 is a big day in France you could do a cheap trip to a less expensive part of France.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I have organised a hen weekend for this weekend. There's ten of us and we have hired a house in the lake district as we wanted to cook and eat together. It has worked out pretty cheap shared between 10 and it even comes with passes to the local health club. I can't wait, its going to be a ball!! heartofthelakes.co.uk0

I had a civilised hen party (sort of)! I live in Bournemouth and decided the best thing was to stay here. Plenty of spa hotels around (I didn't do that though), most are close to town, nice meal plenty of restaurants to choose from and good bars and atmosphere.
A friend of mine did Oxford through a company that booked restaurants and club entries and sorted out daytime activities such as four wheel drive and spa. Can't remember what they were called but do a search on hen weekends and you'll find a load. One thing she insisted on was that they told her which hotel it was before she booked - took a bit of persuading but they agreed and all was acceptable.0 -
We went to Bristol and had an ace time.
We all went to a recording studio for the afternoon and recorded some songs!
It was such good fun!!
They gave us a couple of glasses of bubbly to help with the nerves and even the girls who wouldn't normally sing got into it and had a fantastic time.
At the end we all got a CD with our efforts on to torture our freinds with.
Brilliant!0
