Out of date butter

I have two 250g blocks of anchor butter in the fridge (one is almost half used) which I forgot to check the date of over time. It's out of date now (3rd Jan 2012) so can I use it as normal or do I dispose of it?
Pink is so not my colour :undecided

Fine, in the olden days people used to leave butter out as they didn't have a fridge.

It'll be fine, I've used butter gone out by a month, no side effects :)
  • I have eaten butter out of date too and I am currently using a tub that is a week out of date with no side effects.

  • Agree with everyone else!

If the butter had gone rancid, you wouldnt be asking the question - you'd have chucked it without a second thought!! ;)

Rancid butter = 'orrible whiff :rotfl:

Mine lives in a butter dish in a cupboard so it doesn't go hard, it stays like that till I finish it which can be two weeks or more! The others are right, you'd soon know if it was off!
