Advice on my letter

Hi Guys

Is there anychance some of you can look over my letter which I am hoping to send to some of the lenders that may have missold PPI to me some time ago? Your help would be greatly appreciated:

I am writing to complain as I believe I was missold Payment Protection Insurance for the above account and request that due to the following reasons an investigation be carried out into my complaint immediately.

The Payment Protection Insurance was put on at the start of the finance agreement and I was charged interest on this until the end of the finance agreement.

At the time of this finance application I had been diagnosed with Scheuermann’s Disease. I was not asked nor warned during the application process that the Payment Protection may not have been suitable for me had this ailment have prevented me from working for any period of time.

Furthermore, other important features of the Payment Protection Insurance were not explained to me – for example, the terms for cancelling the cover or significant exclusions such as stress and back problems.

I also believe that at the time of the application the entire cost of the Payment Protection Insurance was never fully explained to me.

I look forward to a response within 12 working days.

That will probably result in an uphold

My understanding is that this is a self-limiting disease of childhood. If you have not been diagnosed until you were old enough to take out a loan (i.e. an adult) it suggests it is not particularly severe. However, any inability to work that was attributable to it might result in a claim being rejected.

Back problems would be a particular issue for a Scheuermann's sufferer

Make the point that you mean the cost over the entire course of the loan, including interest.

However, you should complain to whoever sold you the policy (usually whoever sold you the loan) which is not necessarily the lender.

Hi magpie cottage and thank you for your assistance!

I'm surprised you know a bit about my condition...my doctor didnt have a clue when he first heard of it ha ha ha! I was diagnosed when I was 21...some 15 years ago now! Been on anti-inflammatory's every day since!

All in all then it appears to be ok to send (the letter)?

I will clarify in my opening sentence that my complaint is directed at the seller of the PPI policy though and will edit the last sentence about the cost over the entire course of the loan.

    Thanks again, really appreciated.
