Help! DRO in place but still being chased

Options
Hi,

I have a dro that was set up on 21 Dec 2011 and it is showing on the insolvency register (so I am presuming its all gone through ok) but I am still being chased by barclaycard, today I have had a letter from a debt collection agency on their behalf. What should I do? Should I contact Barclay card or the collection agency? So far I have ignored every letter as I have had quite a few from my debtors as the dro is so recent, so I was expecting to get a few but now this has come from a collection agency I am worried :(

Thanks for any advice

  • Just give the DCA a quick ring, tell them you are subject to a DRO, give them the DRO number, date of acceptance and that should be it, they will send it back to barclaycard with the details!

The issue is communication between departments!

It makes such a difference when you ring them armed with the DRO information, they talk to you so much better than before when i felt i was being talked down to!

On thursday im 5 months in, and it was the best thing i ever did! Things still aren't easy but least i dont have DCA's on my back all the time now!

This happens a lot (particularly with Lloyds I seem to notice). I usually write, as I don't particularly enjoy talking to muppets and like a written record in case I need to complain.

In your case I'd write to the creditor and their agent.

Just to add - they are allowed to inform you of your balance. They're not allowed to demand payment or threaten legal action.
