Gas will not swap!!!!

Is anybody else having this problem:
Both my Gas & Electric were with Scottish Power I did a new search through USwitch and it recommended Atlantic.
The electric switched ok but the gas will not. Atlantic are saying they have applied to switch 3 times and as the gas line is a small private company with small resources (news to me) and not Transco they will not switch it!
I was on a joint deal with Scottish Power which now im not as they only have the gas supply and it keeps going up!
What can I do?

AreTHOSE diots not aware that Atlantic is part of Scottish and Southern Energy? Might be worth contacting SSE group HQ about what is going on, acquainting one of the dailies with the story. I' wonder if a take of BG's sins might wht their appetite.
Do it in two stages. Cancel gas tfr; spend a month with say Southern Electric and then transder gas to Atlantic is another idea.0 -
There was a report on problems like this on the energywatch website. Apparently all the big companies are licenced to carry gas through Transco's network, however with the indpendants they have to apply to each one for a licence individually.
It might be worth phoning the pipeline company and asking them which carriers can use the network? I'd be surprised if a big supplier like SSE wasn't licenced, but it's always possible, or maybe there is a bit of confusion like oldwiring suggested.0
