Thanks for the post but I was not really after advice on the situation. I do have a second dog - first dog is just suffering the stress of our recent housemove. I am fully aware that she has been whining, we have been dealing with this and spoken to/apologised to the neighbour. I also realise that she may have progressed to barking (hence wanting to video it to see to what extent) but my comment about not being convinced was in regards to it being all day - because on numerous occasions I have snuck back and listened at the door or looked through the window and the dogs have not been barking. I also have a relative who lives opposite who has commented on hearing them on rare occasions but not non-stop (I understand that being opposite, they won't hear it as much as the immediate neighbour). Of course, one person's idea of "non-stop" may not be the same as my idea of "non-stop", and I appreciate that any barking can be irritating, which is why I am taking various measures to act on it, but I want to know what I am dealing with, hence the webcam.
Edit: In response to Catherine, as covered above, I am not naive enough to feel that the neighbour is making it up but I'm not convinced that it is literally non-stop. Our other immediate neighbours are not really home during the day but have not said anything to us about barking in the evening when I've seen them. As said, nothing can be heard from the house opposite us either, but this could be a distance thing, so I want to clarify whether she is barking, how much and why (to help prevent it if she is) and a webcam will do that0 -

Probably because it isn't uncommon. My nextdoor neighbour has a Westie, a lovely dog and no trouble at all but she does bark twice, and it is only twice, when the nextdoor neighbour on her otherside, goes down his garden. She can't see me when I go out so it only happens to him.
He's retired and spends most of his time in his garden and can only be described as grumpy, he complains about everything and everyone. What is worse is that to try and reinforce his point he exaggerates.
He started complaining that her dog was barking continuously when in truth all that was happening was every time he came in or out of his back door she gave a couple of barks, I suspect in greeting. She wasn't even outside but in their back room so it wasn't loud, small dog, double glazing, detached houses etc.
He reported her to the council and made such a fuss about the dog barking all day long. They sent someone round, they spent the day sitting in my garden out of sight in a deck chair with a noise meter.
They concluded that there wasn't a problem. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
i have a logitech 9000 - the first one, and use http://www.h264soft.com/h264webcam.html to monitor my office desk at night. I have tried most of the free ones and a large portion of the ones that cost £. The other one that also really works well is http://zonetrigger.com/0
