Strange, you have set a reasonably large budget for a relatively small screen.
ic has summed things up really well but I would like to emphasise his point on plasma, the tech is still better than LCD (with or without LED backlight) I would no go back to LCD as they stand at the moment, even in the smaller screen sizes id go for plasma.
also, im not sure 1080p is much of an advantage over 720p in a 32" screen, unless you are sitting really close to it. I only mention this in case you feel like saving some money on your purchase.
whatever you choose im sure you will be very pleased.0 -
Have been through the same thing prior to Christmas.
I have bought a Panasonic 37'' LED tv with Internet capability and it is Fantastic. The picture is very sharp, HD channels look great, sound is Great, but I have plugged it into a Bose wave system and it sounds even better.
Looked around a lot, the same TV was on sale in Tesco,Argos, John Lewis and M&S for £699 Got it from Richer Sounds for £519 and £51 for the extra 5 years Warranty.
The colours on the panasonic seem a lot deeper, crisper than the lG and Samsung ones. Have attached a Buffalo USB hard drive to it and can now record HD TV and pause live TV.
Overall Very, Very pleased with the Panasonic and Richer Sounds !
Hope this helps0 -
Keep a check of what John Lewis stock - my TV was bought over Christmas and was actually a price match by John Lewis of a Richer Sounds promotion - with the bonus that John Lewis provide a 5 year warranty as standard. If you find a good deal at another high street store, see if JL will price match first.0

That is a very generous budget.
Just had a quick scan and this stood out as a box ticker:

Re:size - The general rule is the distance from sofa to screen divided by 2. My sister recently bought a 32" TV and berated her for getting a tiddly screen, however having seen it in her lounge, i think she made the correct choice. My 42"er is lovely and all but does rather dominate the room.0 -
Rustyboy21 - what is the model number of the Panasonic TV you bought?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I agree about the size. I went from 26" to 43" and was laughing as I unpacked it as it was so big and a friend took the mickey by saying it looked like a council house, but by day two I was thinking "should have gone bigger". I would get the biggest set you can for your £600 budget (50" will be easy) and I too would recommend Richer sounds. In fact they have this 50"3D full hd plasma for £550.-
