Best mobile phone insurance

Im considering insuring all the mobile phones in my house (2 iphones and a blackberry) - we also have a mac book and an ipad and a laptop worth about £300, are there separate policies to cover these items or should i be looking for a more comprehensive home insurance policy/extending my cover?

Best phone insurance is probably to put £10 per phone into a jar every month, then if you need to make a claim at least you know it will pay out.

Mobile phone insurance tends, in my opinion, to be very bad value for money. Most policies are indemnity based rather than new for old, so even if you do manage to get a claim accepted you will only receive the secondhand value for the phone and of cause you will have a £50-100 excess deducted from that.

Obviously on the flip side, mobile phone insurers have a terribly high claim rate, particularly when the phone is a year or two old and a new model has just been released.
