Thank you to everyone on this thread. I always find everyone so nice and helpful and genuinly kind to those in need.
I also use food shopping as a recreational pleasure lol. Although only when its me and DS and all of us going shopping makes me stressed lol.
Valentines Meal last night was going to be a take-away pizza but after making HM ones for the kiddies dinner I couldnt face the take-away ones! DH didnt want me to cook again once he got home so we compromised and got a couple of the Chicago Town pizzas from Tesco on offer at the moment lol. Pudding was angel delight which we both love!
Going to do a bit of baking with the kids tomorrow so need to get some ingredients for that. There were some heart biscuits in the new Asda magazine which I might make for DH or I might just make him some normal shortbread. Decisions decisions. If I make the ones from the Asda magazine then I need double cream and if I need that then I might just make some profiteroles to use the rest of the cream...............too many nice things to choose!
I might just come in under budget this month wooooooooo! First time for everything lol.
Hugs to those who need it.2 adults and 3 children DD (14), DD (12) & DS (10) :smileyhea and 2 mental beagles.
Paying off debt bit by bit0 -
£12.40 in Mr A (quite good for me - much more restrained than usual!) - popped in as I was in the vicinity for fuel & needed bread for lunches for the rest of the week. Did get some milk whilst there so hopefully I'll not need to go back for a while (holding out to spend my Mr T voucher towards the month end).
Now up to £76.45 for the month so not too bad (and catching up a bit on last month's overspend).
Now ... don't all laugh..... going to attempt to make Macaroni Cheese for dinner - I love it and I've never been able to master the cheese sauce (no idea why, I'm not a bad cook and can do most things if I put my mind to them but ... cheese sauce defeats me:o)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Hi all,
Popping in to report a NSD today, as been on a night shift, and kids out with Gradmother.
DD13 and DS05 did not fancy swimming yesterday, so spent £3.50 on sausages and buns at Mr M's, and £4 at the pound shop on disposable BBQ/plates/cups stuff.
Took the dog for a walk on beach, complete with BBQ picnic, altho very cold!!! Kids enjoyed it tho, and it was something different.
Tomorrow might treat them to the local ski slope in the morning, weather dependent, and the cinema at the local theatre in the afternoon. This is much cheaper than cineworld, as only £2 each to see Puss in Boots.
No shopping needed, maybe milk but we'll see. Hope to use my M&S Living social deal at the weekend, should get about £25 of stuff by using various discounts, and will just need to add the £7 that it initially cost me.
The month will end about the 23rd, and if I am anywhere near my budget, it will be a miracle as it has been half term, and the kids have hollow legs.:D
Hope all are enjoying the holidays, looking forward to catching up with all the posts.

Thank you to everyone on this thread. I always find everyone so nice and helpful and genuinly kind to those in need.
I'll second that! I've only been on this thread a few days and already feeling very supported and motivated by all you lovely people!:)
Well - although I'm still not officially starting until the 23rd Feb (payday), you've all made me more mindful of what I'm spending. Unfortunately, I made a rookies error yesterday - popped into coop for 'just' garlic bread and spent £14.03 !!
Most of that was £6.99 for pink fizz, half price ice cream for valentines day and I did get some bargains - christmas chocolate reduced to 16p, 6 garlic bulbs for 50p (we eat tons of garlic too) and those quilted toilet rolls - meant to be £3.00 for 9, but scanned at £2.80! :T
Anyways, hope everyone has a lovely evening!0 -
Really quick post, reporting a £3.20 spend - had mum coming over and didn't have enough bread milk and biscuits to last her visit and two aunts and a friend visiting tomorrow. I'm usually a total loner, but have had SO many visitors this week it feels like some sort of conspiracy they have all cooked up :P
Had some blood test results today, need to have yet another in 6 weeks. My blood count is low, but the thing is I have been taking iron tablets every single day for over a year now and improving diet...so why is my blood count low? I'm seeing the doctor soon but has anyone else had this?

Just popped on to report a spend. I bought clementines and grapefruit at the market; £2.22, and £2.34 in MrS on what was supposed to be a packet of dried apricots but also ended up being biscuits, bananas and tonic water.
Just £35.38 to last until a week friday, perfectly possible!0
