Morning all, wondered if I might join you?
Since having been diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis which flares from time to time, I have had to reduce my hours at work which means that I don't work on Mondays now.
I have to say, I LOVE IT! It's my day for getting the house straight, catching up with the ironing (RA permitting:o), filling the cake and biscuit tins, doing the meal plan for the week, sorting out the banking - all those jobs I don't seem to have time to do at the weekend. I'm looking forward to the warmer weather as I really want to get on top of the veg garden this year. My meds. weren't right this time last year and I wasn't able to get into the garden much.
I have dabbled in the OS way of life for the past three or four years, but my[STRIKE] New Year's Resolution[/STRIKE] item on my "2012 To Do List" is to shift up a gear and fully embrace this way of life. I find it so fulfilling and peaceful. I have dropped out of the consumer way of life and now try to make everything I can at home.
Lookiing forward to getting to 'know' you all.

Morning all!
DD and OH away to work, so 2 less to [STRIKE]threaten with death[/STRIKE] smile serenely at! Have done another 3 loads of washing, and a mountain of ironing, cleaned the shower whilst in it ( how do 21 year olds manage to spread body scrub and conditioner so far????) and put name tapes on a pile of great aunt's clothes as she is temporarily moving to the home FIL is in today. Will now race round the shops to stock up on fresh things as am back to work tomorrow, then take mum and aunties assorted clothes, tv etc to the home and see how bad a mood she's in today, she was awful yesterday cos everyone was reminding her she was moving and she doesn't take in whats going on!RIP Iain

HH it's definitely your blog. I think you are just generally much more organised than me so it seems attainable
Tonight I'm making a sourdough starter. There's currently some basil soaking in the water for it, apparently it adds wild yeast and basil wards off some nasty bacteria. Nothing much else going on.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Welcome lillibet.
Afternoon All
Not much happening here, too tired to do anything! Spent yesterday in Edinburgh with DS2 which was lovely, he took me to a big car boot sale - had a good time nosing about and bought a few books and some 'new' butter knives. Went for lunch and then helped him decant his flavoured gin in the bottles I got on-line. Took him shopping to the SM to get his heavy stuff and then came home. Nice and relaxing all day.
Cold here today and my toes are giving me trouble, I already have chill blains and now have ingrowing toenails on each foot, one of them was so bad it woke me up with the pain! Doctors appt for tomorrow afternoon.
Tea was chicken breast with carrots and brocolli and leeks with cheese sauce, yummy. Lots of hugs for the poorlies and downhearted. Take care. XX0 -

Hi everyone abcess is so much better and managed to see my own dentist today who Xrayed it and said it had settled down o.k. but if I get any further trouble he will take the nerve out as its under a crown.Knitting club this morning with my friend from Dartford who went home this afternoon. She is an absolute diamond She stripped the wallpaper from my bedroom walls over the weekend and repainted all the paintwork for me and is returning next week whilst her OH is working away on a course to repaper for me.We also had a great declutter and lots of coffee and jawing.Because of my wonky joints she won't let me do anything anywhere near a ladder so I was coffee lady and kept her well supplied with coffee cake and chat. She is an absolute star and my oldest friend bless her.
I have stayed away from the supermarkets for the past few days as on friday night as I was walking back to my car from DDs my wonky leg gave way and I ended up in a very indignified heap on the road.It was dark and the cars do whizz down the road a bit so I waved frantically when I saw some lights approaching and luckily the driver saw me and slowed and drove around me.I got home and had a hot shower straight away and apart from a few bruises it was mainly my dignity that was hurt.I told youngest DD and she imeadiatley said why didn't you come back indoors to which I replied I just wanted to get home as I hate fussing I haven't told eldest DD as she would nag for England( she worries far too much, she thinks I do too much anyway)But all is well and I'm none the worse for my mishap. My pal was very stern with me though and so I ended up doing the coffee rota over the weekend.
Tomorrow I have to go to Argos to get DGS Mikey a Ben 10 duvet set for his bed as his Mum and Dad have decorated his room for him and he is so excited that he got to choose the paper.
I hope everyone had a good weekend and apart from my bedroom looking a bit bereft for a week (theres not a lot of point doing much housework with all the decorating) alls weel in my world at the moment
just off to heat up some left overs for my dinner with gravy over it.
Cheers chums

Welcome Lillibet
I'm feeling much better today. I didn't each much more than a banana today but have just scoffed fried potatoes, beans and egg so must be better!!
No snow this morning where I live, didn't even have to de-ice the bus. But by the time I got halfway up the valleys it was snowing! Too wet to stick in daytime but it was coming down lots and lots, and hills were snow covered. Snowing back home righ now though. Hoping it doesn't stick cos I hate driving in snow.
OS wise - dishes washed, general tidy round done, curtains hung in bedroom
Have a good evening all

Look if you want to avoid snow then put snow tyres on your car. Has worked like a charm so far for me <rollseyes>
JulieG - have you not tried using a syringe to administer meds? Stick it in the mouth and squeeze in a little at a time. Seems like a less agonising way to do it than drop at a time.

Quick question? Can you freeze home-made rice pudding?
Thank you xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
