Hi, this is the Daily Thread for30th January. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Cold here this morning, but no ice on the car.
Hubby has a day off today as part of his shift system, if it stays dry he will potter in the garden.
There is a cottage pie in the fridge, it just needs heating through for tea.
Lets hope it's a better week at work thought that's probably a tad optimistic.
Time to get the washing over the radiators & then get ready for work.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester.

Morning all.
Have been reading but not posting much due to accountancy silly season. Today I should submit my last tax return. Then I need to get back on the flying wagon - the house looks like a tip. Apart from that I'm planning a quiet week. I really should get out to the gym a couple of times and attack my to do list. The hound might appreciate a little attention too.
Hope you all have a good Monday.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -
Morning Hester and all to follow.
Cold here too but I am happy as long as there is no white stuff.
Normal Monday activities of office work and housework. Got to pop out at sometime to pick up some paperwork and speak to the accountant.
Leftover beef turned into stew for dinner.

Morning hester, and all to follow.
Not had a great weekend. Eliza got an infection on her toe, it doubled in size! Now she's on antibiotics which is just horrific... the dose is so large it has to be given as 35 drops, this takes 15 minutes of heartbreaking screaming, and the medican upsets her tummy really bad. She gets this 3 times a day on an empty tummy, then can't be fed for an hour after. By yesterday she has started to fall asleep when finished, so sleeps the hour. Anyway, its heartbreaking to do, and the stress is giving me migraines. 6 doses down... 9 to go!
OS wise I did get the WM and BM on this morning, and tidied the house, folded the washing. Just need to put washing away, hang up wet washing, get myself showered and dressed and sort my room. We have the health visitor today, and I'm on the afternoon school run.I
Dinner tonight is nutty chicken curry, out was supposed to be rubber chicken, only we didnt make chicken over the weekend and just had a quick dinner of pesto pasta. Lucky I have chicken breast left from my pregnancy.
hope everyone has a good day xWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Good morning all.
Chilly here today but we haven't got a frost.
JG, poor Eliza, i hope her toe soon gets better. You take care too.
Wm is on. Braising steak is out of the freezer for tea.
I'm not at work today as i am at the hospital this morning. I am having a polyp removed, am not looking forward to it but it has to be done.
I had better get the lunches all done now. I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

JG - love to Eliza and you. Had a clear out at the weekend so have a small mountain of toys to take to the charity shop today. Flagged last night so had McDs for tea. Today I have just to tidy and clear my room. Dinner will be what we didn't eat last night - turkey drummer and haggis with lots of veg. Will convince DH he has to take boys to school whilst I do a quick trip to the skip - not sure when he's back to work, but its been lovely having him home - just what I needed. Shame we're not together all the time - he works in Nottingham and the family home is near Darlington. Fingers crossed we sell the house quickly. xxMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning everyone,
It is really cold here today with snow forecast for later on, hope we don't get it.
WM is on again, I did 7 loads this weekend, where does it all come from?
Really busy weekend so no time to post. DD2 had county trials for netball, she didn't get in but lots of her friends did and she was really upset. She has rallied round and is going to have another try in April. She then had a netball match yesterday morning and played really well, why couldn't the selectors have been watching that?!
Went to some Chinese New Year celebrations and out for a chinese meal last night which was lovely. We were next to the river Trent for the meal and there were police and helicopters everywhere, we think someone had stolen a car and driven it into the river.
Love to Eliza, hope her toe gets better soon.
Tea tonight is LO sausage and bean casserole from Saturday.
Hugs to all in need.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -

Morning everyone
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Dull and overcast here this morning. DH up and has had brekkie, but will be taking it steady today. Boys gone off to school. I'm showered and have had my brekkie, will be doing my hair and putting some slap on shortly, then I will be heading out to take paperwork to Drs, then calling in to get some milk and potatoes - think we're going to tackle some drawers and paperwork that need sorting and then will be shredding. I have quite a pile of ironing - so will tackle that at some point. Dinner will be something from the fridge/freezer - but am hoping to get a menu plan together later as I'm going back to work tomorrow.
Best go get myself into gear.
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x
