No NSD again for me today :(

I put my dog class money out ready last night so was all set to spend nothing today, then bumped in to the ex and my old dog. Got all emotional over seeing my old dog (couldn't give a monkeys about the ex!) and so my dog was really naughty at his class and caused absolute mayhem! Now I have ordered a massive take away, to 'cheer myself up' !!

I seriously need to lock away any cash and my cash card when I am low.

    This is getting silly!!

Any advice on how to stop myself slipping even further? Can see myself reverting back to my spendy ways which is NOT a good thing!

Oh bless Katy, this made bit made me laugh. When I left my ex years and years ago I couldn't give a stuff about him but cried like a baby when I handed our Chinchilla to her new home (I was going into a no pets flat:(). It doesn't seem that you are slipping ....unless I have not been reading properly (entirely possible ;)) but I gues a treat jar or treating yourself to a nice luxurious bubble bath or something would be a good idea!!
Another one who thinks a treat pot works, i round up grocery spends to the nearest pound & stick the difference in mine, so it is all budgeted for money before i spend it.

I also never tell myself no, i always work on the "i'll think about it for half an hour" basis, then go & do something else for that time (bath, reading a book, pottering on here) & 9 times out of 10 i've changed my mind & don't want whatever i was going to spend money on.

Love the idea about the grocery spends...will have a go at that butdoIneedit- thanks!! My OH emplyes the same techniques as you before buying anything! :T. I sind it harder becaue I am a bit more compulsive!

Jinty - I'm gad all went well.

Anyway I went to Mums last night, ate far too much and really enjoyed myself!!! So felt much happier today. I am here to say that today is an NSD day for me :) making NSD 7 and 4 in a row :T which is a personal best for me!!

Have to go out tomorrow though becasue we are going crazy being stuck in the house!! I need some ingredients to cook my valentines day meal so I will have to get those!

    Hope you are all ok?

Awwww (((hugs))) I can't imagine anything worse so really understand..... agree with the others that a treat pot sounds good (think I may pinch that one too:D)
Re the pots, no I don’t think that’s cheating, go for it! Sorry you were feeling a little “delicate”, hope you recovered and managed to do all the cooking.

Fantastic!:D It may take me a while to get the hang of the pots & NSDs but will give it a bash ..... (think of all those NSDs I've thrown away:eek:).

I ended up having a very productive day - picked the chicken, made stock, went for a walk, made soup and then the Risotto. Also managed to fit in stripping & making the bed, 3 loads of washing, cleaned the kitchen & a pile of ironing ..... maybe I should drink more often!

I went in with a reasonable approach, stated my case and got profuse apologies. She was on the verge of tears and admitted that she was under a lot of pressure. I was able to reassure her that I wasnt after her job and that Iall I want to do is to do a good job in the hours I'm paid to work - no more!
I felt I cleared the air with regard to "micro-managing" and all my issues and I am happy.
I was fortuitous that just prior to my mtg, the "big" boss had meeting with the whole dept regarding "work-life" balance and said that he wasnt happy with the amount of "presenteeism" going on and that he wasnt impressed by it!

Thankfully, I wont need to bore you all with any more tales - thanks for listiening, it means a lot!:A

Awwww Jinty, that's fantastic news!:D So pleased & hopefully things will be a lot more .... as they should be (IYSWIM) from now on.

Well - the day has just flown by - I was about to ask my colleagues if they fancied a cup of tea and realised it was finishing time:eek:.

    Anyway, No 6 today
