Now I really am at the end of my tether. We've no alcohol
Out of all the crap that's made me fed up over the last few days, the fact that we have no alcohol has tipped me over the edge... although the thought of that has sort of made me smile. 'gorra laugh or i'd roar':rotfl:
Thanks Aesop hun, DH did tell one of the new companies that quoted us that we had new locks on the doors etc, it never occurred to either of us that we should tell our existing company as well. He's going to ring them tomorrow and tell them all the info to see if they can reduce it at all.
As if my night can't get any worse, I've lost my 'finance book' now. Deary me! :rotfl:0 -
I'm still fed up, even more so now as we've had our home insurance renewal quote through and due to the two burglary claims in the last year it's doubled.DH has been hunting round but we've been burgled three times in the last 2 years so the quotes are just horrendous _pale_
Well that's annoying. Echoing Aesop, preventative measures will help. My current house had a couple of burglaries a few years ago but my Landlady (I'm a lodger) had new locks, a burgler alarm and so on fitted and the premiums are now much more reasonable (and there hasn't been a break in since). The initial outlay for these may be fairly pricey but if you are going to live in that house for several years you will probably save money in the long run. In the meantime try Aesop's less expensive suggestions it may help.0 -
Thanks fs. We have had cctv installed (well, after the first two we had it installed so we caught the third one and he was subsequently locked up within hours) and had to have a new door fitted as the ***t completely knackered our old one. They company fitted the latch things on it at the same time.
I'm going to look into the pen thing, defo a good idea. Can't afford £70/month premiums

do you have neighbourhood watch in your street? if so, join them and let your insurance company know, put the stickers in your window. If not, start your own! let the insurance company know, they like things like this, helps reduce premiums.
do you have sensor lights at front and back of house?
also ask for quotes for separate contents and buildings insurance. this might work out cheaper than one combined quote.

I didn't know you could get the quotes separateI will get him to so that too! x

(((Hugs to everyone that is needing them))) I have been feeling that way out too!
Cheered me up reading the past few pages, everyone is so supportive.
Got £1.69 from an ebay sale, clearly not going to make my millions on ebay :rotfl:
And £4.57 in interest from savings for kitchen and tax. This will end soon as the promo rate goes down. I need to look into swapping to a better account.
My laptop broke and my stuff cant be recovered so I will start new s/s with all my reward site/survery site details and get cracking on those over the weekend. May even try a few things on ebay if I can find any motivation.
Happy Friday everyone, have a good weekend
