Can epilators get past it?

I have a Braun Epilator which has always seemed amazing in the past - it was quite expensive. Today I used it for the first time in awhile and its taken ages and ages to achieve what used to take half the time.
The battery seems to be constantly running out and it seems to be taking such a long time.

I think as you get older the hair cells grip on to the hair for dear life. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Today, it certainly felt like they were.0 -
If you were using it in the past on a fairly regular basis, it was theoretically not having to work on as much hair.
One experiment to maybe try is if you used it again, and see if it's any easier/faster?0 -
Perhaps the rechargeable battery is just past its best?
Depending on the model, you might need to buy a replacement head. If the little spinning discs aren't tweezing as well as they used to that might explain the excessive time to get the job done!Toiletries challenge - Start 362 Current 329£10 a day in Feb - £70.79/£2800 -

Thanks !! I did look at this morning but couldnt work out how a replacement could work. I will google it to see where I could buy one.

i've used epilators for years now & i'm on about my 3rd one i think, i just had to upgrade to the new sooper dooper one that was the "best ever!" (taken in by the sales spiel, me? never!
).
all 3 of mine have been braun, two corded ones & the last one is a rechargeable/wet & dry with about 3 different heads. for a while now the latest one seems to need charging every time i use it (& i'm not that hairy, honest
). using it last night & i got it caught up on a towel, it stopped working them immediately lost it's charge.
i'd only half done one leg so i needed to finish the job, so i dug out my previous corded one & it worked like a dream. it was quicker & seemed more effective. i went over the leg i'd already started & it removed loads that the newer one had missed.
lesson learnt for me i think, cordless might seem more convenient & it appeared to be good when it was new, but in the long run i think a corded one is best. i'll keep the cordless for under arms as it's great for that with the rounded attachment on it & it's also got the shaver head which comes in handy. the old corded one will be tacking my legs from now on.0 -
Under the arms? *shudders*
I can cope with legs but I just can't seem to bring these things near underarms or bikini area. Ouchies!
Very impressed, I must be a softy
