Game currently have the core console, Fusion Frenzy 2, Viva Pinata and a memory card for 199.99. even if you dont like the games, sell them and you have an xbox 360 and a memory card at a very good price!0

re the earlier post re a new black 360, it is still only a rumour, but it is gathering pace.
The rumour is that an x360 is to be released with an optional 120GB hard drive and an HDMI port. This 360 v2 will be available in white or black (from memory it took M$ around 18 months before they released the first non-black original Xbox so the time scale certainly seems about right).
There is a report over at IGn about it here: http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/763/763427p1.html
The only thing I will say about the 360 is to make sure you keep your receipt very safe - I got my first console at launch and am now on my third. Its a great console and the graphics are fantastic, but its the least reliable console I've owned to date.
(PS - I also currently own a WIii - fab console)No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
I got my 36- in Sept and just had to take it back yesterday courtesy of the red ring of death!
Got a new one from HMV (who had the PGR3 / Live Arcade / additional wireless controller / table tennis and the premium console for £300). New console and receipt all kept very safe. Nearly bought it at Gamestation but they stated that they only offered 1 month guarantee, the remainder of the 1st year would be direct with M$. Rather than risk having to argue with them in 6 months, I took my business elsewhere and checked their returns policy.
Be aware of this if buying the console as M$ only state a 3 week turnaround for the repairs. Not particularly brilliant IMHO.
Cheers

If anyone is a Makro member we received a voucher in the post from them yesterday for £10 off when you spend £50 instore and is valid until the end of Feb. Don't know if they are sending out to all members or just certain ones as we have not been to Makro in years so it maybe an offer to tempt you back0

System and controller only - thought it was a good price.
Really hoping that they'll drop in price a little when the PS3 comes out - what do you think? (even £10 is better than nothing!)0 -

Wonder if Microsoft won't do a price drop when the PS3 comes out as the 360 at normal price is still cheaper than the PS3 but it would not do Microsoft any harm in doing a price drop in the effort to take some sales away from the PS3
If your after a £10 discount you should have a look on Quidco and see what the most cashback they offer on retailers that sell the 360 and then also have a look for some discount codes for that shop. Apparantly Boots had 360's in and they were offering loads of boots advantage points with the purchase0 -

Surely they can't do that?!
In the UK the Sale of Goods Act states that your contract is with the retailer, NOT the manufacturer.

They can do anything they like at Gamestation (It seems!)
I was after Tiger Woods 2007 for my 360 today as it was on offer at Game and Gamestation for £29.99, so I popped into my local Gamestation and bought it (Or nearly did lol).It would appear that they keep their instruction manuals/game disks in pouches in a drawer behind the counter so when you buy you don't actually get a sealed copy (Which is what I prefer)
Anyway, on inspecting the disk in the shop, there was a mark on the outer edge of the disk so I asked the young lad to swap it for another to which he said "Sorry, it's the last one". He then whizzed it through this machine that supposedly removes scratches and it looked worse than before so I got my money back and went to Game to buy it.I told him I would not buy it anyway as he shouldn't have to do that to a brand new disk.Whilst at the counter in Gamestation, two people returned games that they'd just bought that wouldn't play in their consoles.
That is the LAST time that Gamestation get my business from now on!!!

Just came across this link to a Makro advert supposedly selling the XBOX 360 Premium for £199 (previously the price of the Core system). Looks like a good deal to those interested if it is indeed true!
