Help with N Power
I have recently had such a troubled time with N Power and was wondering if anyone think there is anything i can do?
I recently moved into a new house and signed upto N Powers Sign online 24, in side my 14 days notice i emailed 3 times to say i wanted to cancel it. I then got a letter through to say i had signed up!. Phoned them, they said if i could prove i sent these email then and only then will they consider letting me out of the contract. I wrote them a letter with print offs of the emails. They responded with a letter saying they had set me up a contract in error and will put me back to my original supplier in 3 months!!
Whilst this was going on, i got sent a bill from N Power for my previous house for nearly £300. I phoned them and said this cant be right as i had been paying a direct debit each month. I was paying an amount in the first 6 months for a higher amount, a N Power representative phoned me and told me to reduce my monthly payments and over the course of the 12 months it will even its self out... When i phoned up they said my usage had tripled in the last 6 months. The lady i spoke to flagged it up as complaint against the payment and they would suspend the payment due untill the 22nd of February whilst they investigate why the bill was so high, they said they may have read my meter wrong. She promised me a phone call 4 days later whilst in the mean time i got to the electric meter of my old house to re take another reading so they can re tally up how much i owe. She worked out they may have over charged me by £190.
I had no phone call back and got a bank statement sent though yesterday and they have taken the payment out!!!
I am fuming and want to phone them but i currently have laryngitis and have completely lost my voice. Does anyone know what steps i can take or should do/say on the phone to N Power as i feel this whole process in the last month has been shoddy!

Did you take the final reading? Also if rented did the agency?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Hi there
Minus the house move, they did the same thing to us a couple of weeks ago and it's not the first time! They trebled our bill and said it was our consumption that'd gone up! Hay not that much!
This is after they'e lost meter readings, a person made a computer error one time and because of this continually underestimated our bill and kept hiking and hiking it up!
Last week we proved they got the E7 readings round the wrong way so the night rate was being charged at the pricier day rate and they BLAMED US! Damn cheek of it! This has been going on for 3 years, them messing up our bill. I've have always paid by DD and THEY are the ones that have continually messed it up! Pathetic company! I'd switch NOW!
That program Undercover Boss that was about them was a PR stunt, he's done nothing to change the situation there! We are now in heavy debt because of them! It's caused us so much upset you wouldn't believe! I'd be ashamed to work for them!
Good luck, you'll need it!0 -
Transposed reads are down to the meter reader, so cant blame them for that one. i agree about the pr, bet it was setupDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it.
