mis sold house from esate agents

Options
Hi,

Hopefully someone can assist... about 25 months ago we bought a house that was described as a "3 bed semi-detached house". We are now looking to move and have recently had it valued, the estate agents that have been round are saying it is not technically a semi detached it is infact an end of terrace house. There is another house attached to the ours and then a bungalow attached to that making it 3 house attached together. We dont think this is really affecting the property pricing but do we have any legal rights with the estate agents we bought it off in the first place?

thanks

Did you have a survey done as part of your buying process?

    No you don't.

Surely you looked at the property and saw exactly what you were buying?

Even if they said it was a twenty four bedroomed mansion I think you would be unable to get them for mis-selling.
    Mis-advertising, maybe.
But that will be of no benefit to you.

OP - did you not notice the bungalow at the other side of your neighbour?

If you have suffered no loss, what "legal rights" do you want?

How can a bungalow be attached to anything?

Er, by having a single storey dwelling adjoining a two storey building- just speculating.

Depends on what you define as a bungalow, I live in a mid-terrace single storey building. I always call it a bungalow.

Erm, the same way as the house the other side? Just with 1 less floor

Not really sure how you can not notice something like this though, it's like buying a car and not noticing it has a sunroof

Well, here is a semi-detached bungalow... in your country too. :D

.......typically fully detached from other houses and do not share a common foundation or party wall.

This would be roughly my thoughts on the definition of a bungalow.

But there again what estate agents call a villa sometimes leaves me speechless.....:rotfl:
