iTunes Error 50

I keep getting iTunes error 50 when trying to download a video I am trying to rent. I see this is a common problem and I have tried the usual fixes stated on the internet such as deleting the temporary file and starting the download again - Had anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?



I'm Running a mac with OS 10.6 and the latest version of itunes. Also I don't have other applications likely to interfere with the download.

I already have one - I tried the download and it doesn't work on that either as I get the same error.

As its the same on both, look at line quality - run this a couple of times and report back

Do you know how far you are from the exchange, are you connected wirelessly, cable/adsl? ISP? router?

PS When was the last time you resynced the router (turning off, delay, and on)

I did a check on that. I'm on virgin media (cable) and getting 9.7 mb download and about 0.4 mb upload with a ping of around 30ms. Generally the internet connection looks ok and I'm not having problems with any other site.

I'll try reseting the router and modem when I get home later.
