Go to the larger PO - the centre of town one if you have it - as the staff there will be a bit more professional and Reading at least has a system of numbered tickets so not everyone has to stand around. There are also kiosks with self-service machines which means that all you have to do is get someone to stamp your COPs.

Make sure you buy some stamps as well while you're there - you can stock up for your next round of listing.

If you are regularly selling a lot it might be worth investing in a basic printer. I saw a HP one on sale in Smiths or somewhere like that for £40; ink is usually available cheaply online; you can also get good deals on last year's models from Amazon - Epson ink is very cheap so I was persuaded to get one of those. It is a good thing to have, makes life a lot easier in general, and I wouldn't be without mine. However, steer clear of Lexmark.

Thanks all for your replies. Unfortunately, the only options I have are 1st thing tomorrow, lunchtime or between 4pm - 5pm :(

Think I'll pop there at lunchtime and do some of them. Wonder if I ask if I can leave the rest for them to process as and when and go back after work to pay for them all??
  • I send mine after 5pm anyway as there's never a queue at that time - main post office, too. Lunchtime is a no-no as it's far too busy and I prefer to eat :o

I would go in and do it in sessions so you're not feeling too embarrassed! And do they all need to go straight off tomorrow, or could half wait until Tuesday? End of the day has always been the emptiest for me (oh how I wish the automatic machines gave proof of posting)

Just stare back. Works for me. :D

Actually, I'm fortunate to live in a tiny village where folks are just happy that someone IS using the PO!

OP has already said they are limited to when they can go. I would also hesitate to wait a day longer than necessary to send ebay items, speed is always good.

Thanks all. I printed two of them postage certificates off at work and filled them in, made sure I had the parcels in the right order and went for it :p
Did it in two batches, one at lunchtime and one after work and managed to get them all done in two 10 minute sessions. :)
