Hi I'm a Community Carer and a lot of my clients have prescribed "Maxijul" it comes in powder form and you can add it to tea, coffee, anything liquid, it works wonders, maybe mention it to the doctor who could prescribe it for you. http://www.yourmedicines.ie/Maxijul
However, I don't think this would be suitable for anyone who has diabetes.

I don't know if she likes smoothies, but when my DD lost alot of weight and her appetite due to illness, I was able to make lots of different smoothies which she enjoyed, I added protein powder bought from Holland and Barrett to the smoothies. Nuts, oatcakes with little pieces of cheese etc. I had to be careful that everything I offered her was protein rich as she got full so quickly. Small meals every couple hours worked best.

Well her weight seems to have stabilised over the past few weeks on normal food, at just over 8st (5' 2") which is just within the healthy range, but she did come down from well over 10 stone.
