Teabags

I was shocked to read on a thread here last year that tea bags are made from some sort of synthetic material. You gotta love MSE - it's a mine of info!
And ever since then, even though I told him not to bother, my lovely DH has diligently opened each tea bag after use and emptied the contents into our kitchen caddie! All I can say is he must love me very much!
Seems mad to me that they aren't biodegradable. But I think I recall someone saying that as a rule the normal type of tea bags aren't biodegradable, but the tag-style ones are? Not sure if I've got that right tho.
Saz xAm I doing a good thing then? Iv got a spoon holder thing which we put the used tea bags on then every day or so I empty the bags before putting them in the compost bin?
Yes, see above. This is exactly what my d/h does

An old fashioned tip was to split them open and put the actual leaves around roses.0
