Loan now current account???

I took out a loan with HSBC a couple of years ago and know I took out PPI. I have had a few money problems and have defaulted on the loan. It has gone through their debt collection agency and I am now dealing with their solicitors. I now have an agreement in place and have been paying this for 5 months now.
I used the template on here to get all of the details of the loan and PPI but have received a letter back saying that section 78 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 doesn't apply to current accounts.
I am confused as it was originally a loan but don't know why it is now classed as a current account.
Can I still reclaim my PPI from the time that I was paying the loan as agreed? If so how do I got about this??
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

If you have the loan account number and reasons for mis sell, then put a claim in.

Just to let you know, any arrears on this loan,if you win redress, will be used to repay the loan.0
