Thanks to everyone who's taken the trouble to read my post so far.
Not a single reply, so assuming that what I'd like to try, can't be done with an Iphone then?........sigh

What I do, because I want my work rota on my iPhone, is to email myself the files. I then put the emails (with attachments) in an archive folder under email settings.

If I want to look summat up I just open the email. Attachment is at the bottom and open it up. Works with Excel and Word, butr not sure about other files.
  • Install Dropbox on the Mac and the free dropbox app on the phone.

Never put sensitive work docs on a personal phone though. You wll be given absolute hell if it gets lost or stolen.

Yes it can be done. I don't suppose it occurred to you to go into the App store in iTunes and search for files?

There's a free one called FileApp, I have no idea how good it is but got to be worth a try.

I use one called Files Lite, it was another free one, the paid for version is called Files Pro and costs a whopping £1:99 :D

I would have thought that as a Mac and iPhone user you would be aware of the iCloud here.

Good call. I'm a Mac user but I'm not sure I like the idea of the iCloud or anything else that means my personal stuff is anywhere but on my own kit. :D

No, nothing sensitive, just info to tap my memory....Alzheimers! So limiting when in a profession where copious info is the norm for following policies and protocols to the letter!

Thanks to all who have replied, some suggestions in the posts sound quite techie, but will wrap my grey matter around each one and work out my best option as soon as I have the time?!.....Files Pro sounds like could be a good option.
Thanks again, really appreciate your help. :D:D:D
