Help! PCN from UKPC

Hi! My car was parked in a crowded car park patrolled by UKPC
' NOT on the Line' was the alleged reason for the £98.5 charge notice.
I have read forums and other stuff about private parking firms, and the loophole about identifying the driver, who is responsible for the breach of contract.
I also found out that the new law banning clamping on private land in England will give PPCs the right to go after the registered keepers, just wondering if it'll apply in this case, it happened yesterday, the law is going through the Lords at the moment, but I wonder whether it'll be retroactive?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
E

Thank-you.
I'm an honest guy and if I do something wrong and get fined for it by the proper authorities, then fair does, but when a sticker lands on my car with " No one should unlawfully remove this notice" , making it look official when it's not, i does rather make my blood boil!
Fortunately, I've now viwed the torrent of letters I'm likely to get and it will help me get a better night's sleep!0 -
Just because the "proper authorities" give you a penalty does not mean they are always right. Always go to pepipoo.com and see if it is worth appealing and going to adjudication. They often get signs, lines, tickets and other things wrong which nullifies the ticket but they will not tell you and fight with tooth and claw to prise the money from your pocket. What you must never do is Ignore a police/council ticket.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

We are too, the regulars on this board! I am an honest lady with 4 children, hubby and me both working full-time in jobs that require an enhanced CRB check and which give a service to Society. I used to work in Finance as well and am well aware of the need for a good credit record, never normally not paying my way!
But I ignored a fake PCN 4 years ago and would happily collect more even after the Freedom Act comes in. This scam is abhorrent, and the fact they impersonate authority to rip off ordinary people so that the car parking 'fat cats' can afford sports cars, horses and yachts is sickening.
That's why we come on here every day to make sure no-one on MSE who reads these sthreads and stickies, pays these scammers.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What type of reason is "not on the line", which line were you not parked on?
I'm guessing they are trying to scam you for parking 1mm on the bay-line and so not in a space.0
