Halifax and BOS - Lloyds TSB accounts?

I've noticed recently (September 2011) that Bank of Scotland have got rid of their Halifax-style accounts(ie easycash cardcash expresscash reward and ultimate reward current accounts etc) for accounts basically identical to Lloyds TSB ones (classic gold silver platinum premier etc)

Are Halifax going to do the same to their accounts?

  • No.

Halifax is the challenging brand therefore accounts will be unique.

Lloyds TSB & BOS are relationship brands therefore will have similar / the same products.

You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)

Who or what are they challenging?
Their staff's ability to understand their account T&Cs perhaps?

    That's quite funny.

I am glad that I am no longer one of those staff.

Every single computer system changed. Every single way of doing things has been undone. Every single account changed. The way of processing the old accounts changed. Management who were previously experts in their field suddenly having years of knowledge removed from them, so no longer able to support as they did previously. Unofficial (but effective) short cuts all removed.

I bet there's been one or two doctors burdened with the fallout of that level of change.
