Replacing frosted glass with clear...

Hope I'm posting this in the right section - feel free to advise if not!

The house behind ours has recently had permission for a ground floor back and side extension which has subsequently been built. However in the course of the build they have replaced their old first-floor frosted landing window on the side with a clear glass one (the side of their house faces the back of ours). Nothing of this change is mentioned in the plans, and the window is the same size and shape as it was pre-extension and has, I guess, been in-situ there since the house was built. However my issue is that from this window they now have clear site straight into my DD's bedroom - can this be legal/acceptable? If not, is anybody able to advise how I would go about tackling the problem? For info I'd estimate that the side if their hosue is approx 30 feet away from ours.

We don't know them particularly well, but I'm apprehensive about approaching them directly without being armed with knowledge first.

Thanks in advance,
MMM :)

    No - you should object.

there is no legal issue about it.
although some council planners will insist on an obscure glass pane. esp in bathrooms.
each situation will be different. as will each planning dept.

Agree with Ormus - when I said "No" I meant "not acceptable" rather than "not legal" sorry about being unclear. But you should still object IMHO - even if it is 30 feet away. The original obscured glass was there for a reason - probably the one we are discussing at the moment.

    Cheers
