Morning All,
I'm just after some advice please. I had an overdraft with Yorkshire Bank which was initially for £250. I very rarely used it until my partner left the country leaving me to pay for everything. I then got into the routine of having to keep increasing my overdraft, incurring charges that I couldn't pay until I owed the bank about £1700.
I have been paying it back and now owe £200 but most of the debt was charges. I did write to them and complain but they basically said that following the legal proceedings with the OFT, they were under no obligation to refund any charges.
Now, at the time of me incurring them all, I was clearly in serious financial hardship. I'm now expecting a baby in June and could do without having to keep paying them money each month that is clearing a debt that they created by persistently charging me £25 here and £25 there. In one day alone in 2006, I incurred £75 worth of charges.
Do I have any grounds to re-open my claim?
Thanks.
